Use case: Datasource has Country, State, City and we need 3 separate charts for Country State and City data. How can we accomplish this with one single datasource using selection at the SDK level.
With the current SDK we are not able to send the JSON selection from advanced property sheet.
Would be nice to send JSON selection from design time Advanced Property Sheet and runtime likewise. This will help us select the required dimension required for the chart from the several dimensions available in the Datasource. We were not able to find any methods within the SDK to select the required dimension and assign it to the chart from the several available dimensions in the datasource.
This will help with the facilitation of selecting the required dimension required for the chart from the several dimensions available in the Datasource without the need for the dashboard designer to rely on BIAL and struggle with JSON.
We did look at the option suggested by Jie Deng in the discussion below, this still has limitations (having the ability to select only the first dimension, legend not displayed properly etc. ).
