I think this is intentional, that when the width is auto getwidth returns -1, but I'm confused as to what sort of value add this is? It would be very useful to be able to grab the width (or height) of an object and use that to drive other calculations. I am sure that it's possible for the Developers to enable this, is there any reason why it hasn't been done? Meanwhile is there a work-around where I can somehow retrieve this information?
