APPLICATION.setVariableValueExt clears filters in DS 1.5?

Hi,

I have two BEx queries lets say Q1 and Q2,on Q1 I have variable V1 and in Q2 I have variables V1 and V2.In Design studio 1.5

when I set APPLICATION.setVariableValueExt("V2", xx),All the filters in Q1 and Q2 are reset despite V2 is not present in Q1.

This was not the behaviour with DS 1.4. Is this the modified behaviour in DS 1.5 ? If so is there any workaround to retain the filters?

I tried unmerging the variables and passed the variable values using DS_1.setVariableValueExt("V2", xx) where DS_1 is data source for Q2.Still no good.Anyone else faced similar issues?
