I'm using a BEx query as a data source which has a compounding characteristics. Now I don't want to see all those compounding objects in the Design Studio app. Setting the Display as to 'No Display' in BEx Query Designer doesn't have effect on the initial view in Design Studio. So I put a filter on the compounding objects in the initial view and the Live Preview now shows the desired result. Setting these filters in BEx Query Designer has the same effect by the way.
So far so good. When I bind this data source to a Crosstab the correct output is displayed. But, when I bind it to a chart, all the compounding objects are displayed again. Check the image:
Is this by design or is there a workaround for this?
