Design Studio on BW for Near Real Time Dashboard

Hi All,

     I'm trying to design a near real time dashboard on the SAP BW system. However, I don't see how I can connect the system and utilize the Streaming Data Source for the purpose. I've searched throughout the SCN and the User Guides for ideas on this particular design but I don't seem to be finding a solution. Can somebody help me understand the connectivity and how I can create a data source with a periodic refresh design to create the near real-time effect?
