Issue when uninstalling CVOM Chart Extensions

Hi guys,

We are facing following issue: we have developed a CVOM chart visualization (aka Lumira Visualization extensions) to be used on Design Studio. As usual we first installed it locally  using DS Client (Tools -> Install CVOM Extension) and everything goes fine. Therefore we installed it on the SAP BIP and after restarting the APS server, the app that contained the custom chart was rendered also properly thorugh BIP.

Our headaches have started when we have created a new version of the custom extension. Initially we uninstalled it from local and platform. At that point I noticed that the folder C:\Users\<user>l\Analysis-config\plugins still contained the jar file corresponding to the extension, and the artifacts.xml file (placed at upper folder) still did reference the uninstalled extension. Curiously the extension does not longer appaear in the list of Extensions Installed on Local computer (????)

Definitely something has gone wrong on the uninstall process but we haven't found any error message that help us to understand why the extension can not be propely uninstalled and why DS does still "believe" that is it uninstalled when actually it is not the case. What is more the issue prevents to install a new version (the old jar file is not updated)

Same issue appears on the platform. After uninstalling it and restarting the APS server we have checked that the deployed jar files are still physically available on the platform server despite that the component does not longer appear in the list of platform extensions (Extensions installed on Platform).

At that point we have learned that a way to workaround the uninstall issue locally is to delete the *.jar file place at  C:\Users\<user>l\Analysis-config\plugins and delete entry corresponding to the extension on artifacts.xml file. Unfortunately we don't know how to manage the uninstall issue at platform level. In the platform server we have found jar files with the name of the extension (with a guid added after its name) on the AP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\FileStore\Input\ folder but deleting them does not work.

Any one has faced a similar issue? Any clue /idea? By now the only thing that has worked for us has been to rename with a complete different name the new version of the component, but I don't like too much the idea of having to rename it each time that a new release needs to be deployed.

Thanks,

Alfons
